Kilimanjaro Guide Bios
These are just some of the Kilimanjaro guides leading trekkers up the mountain.
Wilfred Moshi
He is the owner and senior guide at Kili Treks Tanzania. He began his guiding career in 1999 as a porter, and within few months underwent the KINAPA guide-training course and became a certified mountain guide. He began as an assistant guide, and because of his language and natural leadership skills, he became a head guide in 2001. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro over 100 times. He has travelled the world and climbed Mt Everest and many other mountains in the world.
Edward Seth
Born into the Maasai tribe, Edward has attended multiple guiding courses. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Starting in 1998, he quickly rose to the post of head Kilimanjaro guide due to his excellent language skills, intelligence and drive.
Deo Lauwo
Guiding is more than a career for Deo, it’s in his blood! After years working as a porter, then an assistant Kilimanjaro guide.
Godlove Kiwelu
Born in Kilimanjaro’s foothills, Godlove studied in the U.S. before returning to a head guide position in Tanzania. Thoughtful, intelligent, and compassionate, Godlove has more than 100 professional summits. He lives with his family in Arusha.
Isihaku Said
Born in central Tanzania, Isihaku started working on the mountain in 2006. Young, and charm. He works tirelessly to keep climbers happy and healthy. That dedication has led to over 70 professional summits.
Calvin Assey
Calvin puts Kilimanjaro trekkers at ease with his easygoing nature. His energy is amazing. His ability to sing extraordinary. He counts over 150 successful summits. Born in Kilimanjaro’s foothills.
